Ocean Plastic Upcycling Vessel

Concept: Instead of just collecting marine debris, this innovative vessel processes it at sea into high-value construction materials. The "upcycling ship" uses an advanced, multi-stage sorting system to separate plastics. The key innovation is an onboard, low-emission pyrolysis reactor that converts mixed, degraded ocean plastic into a durable, recycled plastic lumber or aggregate. This material is then extruded into modular hexagonal building blocks, which are stacked on the aft deck, ready to be used for artificial reefs or coastal infrastructure upon arrival at port.

Image: A wide shot of a rugged, industrial ship designed for the open ocean. It features a large, forward-facing collector array scooping plastic debris from the water. On the central deck, a complex, modular chemical processing plant is active, distinguished by warm internal lights. The aft deck is stacked high with large, uniform, hexagonal blocks of grey recycled aggregate, demonstrating the immediate transformation from waste to resource.
